  Stephen Estrada embarked on a sizeable (nearly $500K) pool / pool house project for us in early 2013. After a series of lies about status and stunningly poor workmanship, he abandoned us in November of 2013 with a partially completed project, most of which we are having to re-do, and several hundred thousand dollars of our money. Example issues include crooked framing of the pool house bathroom, significant deviation from the architect's design, using tradesmen with permits pulled in other people's names, and failing to make payroll (resulting in workers hanging around our house, asking for money). I could go on, but I'm so angry I can't bear to do so. His former design partner now refuses to work with him, his primary supplier of stone was left holding the bag on a $70K unpaid bill, and we continue (to this day) to discover short cuts that he 9and his subs) took. We have a complaint pending at the MCHIC, but the restitution funds are paltry compared to what it is costing us to fix his mistakes. I'd also note that he changed the name of his company -- probably to hide from the complaint. I would urge you to stay away from Estrada. I don't check this email very often, but if you seek an alternative, one of the guys cleaning up Estrada's mess is Walter Santana, of Santana Design Build. Good luck, and be careful.
